2. Rights of the Persons concerned
Natural persons have legal rights to personal data concerning them. To exercise your rights and other questions about personal data, you can always contact the data protection officer or the responsible body.
These rights are subject to conflicting statutory provisions.
Right to revoke your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can revoke an existing consent at any time. An informal message by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data processing operations for the purpose of fulfilling the business purpose on the basis of a contract and in connection with a professional cooperation may be excluded from this revocation.
Right to information, transparency, blocking, deletion
You may receive information about your stored personal data and the underlying procedures at any time without giving reasons. You can request your data collected by us to be blocked, rectified or deleted provided this is (technically) feasible.
Right to appeal
Furthermore, you have a right of appeal to the competent Data Protection authority.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have the data we have processed based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract delivered to you or to a third party in a standard machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done if it is (technically) feasible.
3. Data processing
The UoB processes personal data in accordance with specified and documented procedures with a stated purpose. Only the minimal necessary data are collected to fulfill the purpose. If necessary, disclosure of this data to third parties will be made exclusively to the processor in order to support the fulfillment of the purpose. These processors are contractually bound to comply with data protection regulations.
There is no off-purpose processing of personal data or data retention/storage.
The UoB only operates systems secured by appropriate technical and organizational measures for the processing of personal data.
4. Data collection on our website
Your personal data is collected by your submission of these data to us, e.g. by entering data in a contact form, ordering informational materials, registering for the newsletter or registering for the internal area of a trial.
Other personal data of technical nature will be collected automatically through our IT system once you visit our website.
a) Technical data collected
The provider of the webpages automatically collects and stores information which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL (website from which you came to our site)
• Host name of the accessing computer
• Time of server request
• IP address
This data will not be merged with other data sources.
The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, which allows the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
b) Contact form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored in order to process the request and for follow-up questions. We will not share this information without your consent.
The processing of the data entered into the contact form is therefore exclusively based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. An informal message by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
The information you provide in the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, revocation of your consent to storage, termination of the process or the purpose of the data storage (for example, after your request has been processed following a specified cancellation period). Mandatory statutory provisions - especially retention periods - remain unaffected.
This also applies to the ordering of information material, such as the patient brochure "Herz aus dem Takt", the newsletter, etc.
c) Job advertisements / Online job applications
Your application data will be collected electronically and processed by us for the purpose of the application process. In case your application results in a contract of employment, your transmitted data may be stored in your personnel file for the purpose of the usual organizational and administrative process in compliance with the relevant legal requirements. In the case of rejection of your job application the data transmitted by you will be deleted two months after announcement of the rejection. This does not apply if, due to legal requirements (for example, the burden of proof according to the General Equal Treatment Act), a longer storage is necessary or if you have expressly consented to a longer storage in our prospect database.
5. Analysis tools and advertising
When you visit our website, your surfing behavior may be evaluated statistically. This is mainly done with cookies and with so-called analysis programs. The analysis of your surfing behavior is done anonymously. The surfing behavior usually cannot be traced back to you.
Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google").
As part of Google AdWords, we use the so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad provided by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is saved. Cookies are small text files that the web browser stores on the user's computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for the personal identification of the users. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not expired yet, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.
Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of AdWords advertisers. The information gathered using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are informed on the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page. However, they do not receive information that personally identifies users. If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can opt-out of this by easily disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie through its Internet browser under User Preferences. Thus you will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
The storage of "conversion cookies" is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising.
For more information about Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking, see the Google Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
You can adjust your browser settings in the way that you are informed about the saving of cookies and only allow certain cookies to be saved, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online services.
