The Research unit (UMRS956) is based in the Pitié-Salpêtriere hospital, one of the largest cardiovascular centres in France.
The team is internationally recognized in the fields of hereditary and complex cardiovascular diseases signalling pathways involved in cardiovascular diseases and cardiac electrophysiology.
Stéphane Hatem
Stéphane is Professor of cardiovascular physiology at the heart Institute of Pitié-Salpétrière hospital and director of the Inserm/University Pierre Marie Curie research laboratory (UMRs1166) in Paris.
His research activity has been dedicated to understanding the molecular and cellular basis of AF, contributing to knowledge improvements on the formation of macromolecular ionic channel complexes, mechanisms of atrial fibrosis and the relationship between adipose tissue and AF.
